The Lab

We are a multidisciplinary design lab specialized in experience innovation, digital and physical product design, speculative design, and multimedia art direction. We blend experimental experiences and market-ready ideas to create tangible futures around emerging technology, climate and sustainability, health and wellbeing, and everyday life.

VLab is where Vending, Variety, and Vision converge. Originating from our inaugural project, 'SpaceV: A Space Vending System for Future Wellbeing in the City', we've evolved to champion the ethos of self-service and hybridity. Today, we vend diverse ideas, curate immersive and multimodal experiences, and bring visionary projects to life at VLab.

Tiange Wang
Co-founder

Tiange Wang is a multidisciplinary designer and creative technologist. Her work explores innovative interactive paradigms between humans, technology, and the environment. Tackling subjects like climate change, holistic wellbeing, multisensory experiences, and speculative futures, she utilizes mediums including multimodal interaction, creative data visualization, multimedia art, installation, food, software, artificial intelligence, and games.

She is also a senior software designer at IDEO - a leading global innovation company, where she leads the design and prototyping of human-centered, planet-conscious, and data-informed experiences with Generative AI across web, mobile, and spatial computing platforms.

Her work has received numerous prestigious awards and has been presented at premium venues such as SXSW, SIGGRAPH, CHI, Stanford, Harvard, MIT Museum, NYCxDesign Festival, San Francisco Design Week, Vancouver International Film Festival among others.

Tiange holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with High Honors from the University of California, Berkeley.

I-Yang Huang
Co-founder, Managing Director

I-yang is a multidisciplinary designer working across R&D, labs, luxurious residential, public space and industrial design. He specializes in complex modeling, parametric generative geometry and storytelling by visualization.

I-yang's work explores emerging design trends and opportunities arising from digitalization, including game engine, new retail experience, multisensory data experience, experimental development paradigm and speculative spatial design.

His work has been widely featured by major international media outlets such as ArchDaily, Architectural Review, Architect Magazine, Business Wire, Dezeen, Domus, Designboom, Fast Company, The Boston Globe, and more.

I-yang holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with First Class Honor from the University of Hong Kong.
